Committee agenda template

A starter template for committee agendas

Every committee is different but the agenda typically has two main sections, the meeting header and the list of agenda items

Meeting header

The meeting header contains the general meeting information:

  • Date
  • Start time
  • End time
  • Location
  • Purpose
  • List of participants including guests
  • List of meeting documents (if applicable)

Agenda items

For each item, list the following information:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Person responsible for the item (lead)
  • Alloted time
  • List of reference documents (if applicable)

An example committee agenda:

1. Beginning items

  1. Review agenda
  2. Review minutes of previous meeting

2. Subcommittee/task force updates

3. Old business

4. New business

5. Ending items

  1. Review action items
  2. Date of next meeting

Tip: If you like to standardize the agenda template for committees in your organization, you can share your template in the committee settings so other committees can use it as their template as well.
